Colborne Art Gallery is calling upon the talents of two of its member artists to help celebrate Culture Days Sept. 27 and 28.
Jillian Roos-Markowitz will spark the imagination with lino-block printing workshops Sept. 27. Participants will make their own printing blocks to create abstract designs, with colourful water-based printing inks to execute the final product on printing paper and fabric surfaces. Workshops will be offered from 1 to 2:30 p.m. and from 3:30 to 5 p.m., with all supplies provided by the gallery.
On Sept. 28, Claus Heinecke will present an interactive artist talk during the final days of his current solo exhibition Space/Shape. Heinecke will lead a discussion of the words space and shape, and their relevance to sculpture and to his current show. Everyone is welcome to take advantage of an opportunity to gain some insight into the creative process from 3 to 4 p.m.
Culture Days is a national volunteer movement to raise the awareness, accessibility, participation and engagement of all Canadians in the arts and cultural life of their communities.
The Colborne gallery is located at 51 King St. E., Colborne. For more information, call 905-355-1798.
