Once again this year, The Colborne Art Gallery is proud to participate in Culture Days, with activities to stimulate and inspire the creative imagination.

Culture Days is a collaborative pan-Canadian volunteer movement to raise the awareness, accessibility, participation and engagement of all Canadians in the arts and cultural life of their communities.  Events will be held across Canada from September 26-28.

Member artists of The Colborne Art Gallery will be offering two activities to engage you in the creative process:

Culture Days 2013

On Saturday, September 27, member artist Jillian Roos-Markowitz will spark the imagination with a Lino Block Printing workshop at the gallery. Participants will make their own printing blocks to create abstract designs. Water-based printing inks in glorious colours will be used to print the designs, working on printing paper as well as fabric. Come and explore and watch the unexpected happen!  Two workshops will be offered:  from 1:00-2:30pm and 3:30-5:00pm.  Numbers are limited. All supplies provided by the gallery.

Claus HeineckeOn Sunday, September 28, member artist Claus Heinecke will present an interactive artist talk on the final day of his current solo exhibition, Space/Shape, at the Gallery.  Heinecke will be leading a discussion of the words space and shape and their relevance to sculpture and his current show.  All are welcome to join and gain some insight into the creative process!  The artist’s talk will be from 3:00-4:00pm.
