Family Day Art Event: Lino Block Printing
The Colborne Art Gallery was the scene of a creative Family Day event on Monday, February 16th. Jillian Roos-Markowitz hosted an art workshop demonstrating the art of Lino Block Printing. Participants attending made their own Lino cut printing blocks to create abstract designs. The blocks are carved with tools then inked with a roller, flipped ink side down and transferred to paper. Water-based printing inks in glorious colours were used to print the designs. The technique works on printing paper as well as fabric. Artist from the community came out to explore their creativity.
