The Colborne Art Gallery is pleased to be participating in Culture Days 2011.
Member artists of The Colborne Art Gallery present several activities on the weekend. These events will take place in the historic former East Northumberland Land Registry Office, built in the 1860’s, located on the main street of Colborne, Ontario, ninety minutes east of Toronto, near the shore of Lake Ontario. Watch for our new blue Tourism signs on the 401 approaching exit 497.
Come Play at the Colborne Art Gallery Saturday Oct 1, 1:00 – 5:00 pm
On Saturday October 1st, there will be a series of mini workshops to engage you in the creative process. Choose from one of the three afternoon experiences, or plan to come and enjoy all of the workshops. We look forward to your visit and a chance to make art together. All supplies provided by the gallery.
Saturday 1 – 2 pm: Intuitive Drawing
Do you think you cannot draw? Change those ideas by exploring new ways of releasing wonderful lines and shapes from the inner you.
Saturday 2:30 – 3:30 pm: Mono Printing
If you have never printed before this is for you! We work on plexiglass plates with bright coloured watercolour crayons. Then hand rolling on printing paper, magical things can happen.
Saturday 4 – 5 pm: Lino block printing
Easy to cut soft lino is guaranteed to make a convert from all who try this process. Cutting the block is simple and striking original images are yours for the making.
Art + Dialogue – Meet the Artists of the Colborne Art Gallery Sunday Oct 2, 2011, 12:00 – 5:00 pm
Join us at The Colborne Art Gallery for an artist’s chat as we enjoy the final day of our current show. Meet members of an artists’ collective, hear them talk about their work, ask questions about the creative process, and enjoy the ambiance of an historical building in a small town in Ontario.
