COLBORNE — If Christmas plans are beginning to swirl around your head, then the questions and challenges of gift giving won't be far behind.

It seems we all dream of finding just the right gift for our friends and loved ones, one that will delight in the moment and continue to be cherished over the years. A gift of art can often fulfil those goals, bringing beauty to our homes for today and becoming a precious treasure over the years.

It's never too soon to start the tradition of giving art as a gift.

Each year the members of The Col¬borne Art Gallery host a very special show called All Things Bright & Beautiful, an exhibit and sale of unique art works in a variety of media, sizes and price ranges suitable for gift giving.

When shopping for a gift of art, it's best to keep an open mind, viewing each painting, sculpture, piece of pottery or jewelry with an appreciation for the colours, textures and designs that might appeal to family members and friends. Perhaps the art piece you view will remind you of the person you are buying a gift for. A painting might bring back the memory of a time at the beach or a walk in the woods together. A beautiful hand-made bowl may remind you of won¬derful meals you shared.

When you think about your gift list this holiday season, consider the gift of original art. You'll be sharing a thoughtful cre-ative expression of your feelings.

All Things Bright & Beautiful will kick off Nov. 16 from noon to 4 p.m.

Whether you are looking for hand-crafted cards and ornaments or full-sized works of art for your home or gift giving, please join the gallery artists, sip a cup of hot cider, nibble on some delicious treats and begin your tradition of giving the gift of art.

All Things Bright & Beautiful will run through Dec. 22, and gallery hours are Thursdays through Sundays from noon to 5 p.m.
